Are you looking for the best beaches in Greece?  Lots of islands will stake a claim.  For me, though, there is only one winner ' Paros.  This small island has it all.  Once you arrive, get yourself booked in to a Paros hotel, villa or apartment, leave your things in the room, and then head out to enjoy some of the best beaches I have ever found.

This is a fairly small island.  At its longest it is just 21 kilometres from North East to South West.  At its widest, it is just 16 kilometres from coast to coast.  If you rent a car you could drive around the entire island in less than an hour.  You could ' but you shouldn't.  What you should do is take your time.  Explore.This place is beach heaven.  Whatever type you want, whatever activities you want, whatever distractions you want.  Don't believe me?  Get over here and see for yourself.

Paros has four Blue Flag rated beaches the best known of which is Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti) on the east coast.  This large beach has cafés, windsurfing, water-skiing or any other entertainment you can think of.   Pounda Beach Club, on the west of the island, is often packed with dancing party people.  Kolimbithres beach is popular with families.  The rock formations there might make you think you have visited another planet.  When the children get restless and bored with that view, however, there is a park with waterslides nearby.  If you want something different, though, some quiet hideaway, then Paros has plenty to offer.  To the north of Ambelas, a small town in the north east of the island, there are plenty of coves where you can find a small beach to enjoy all to yourself. 

The staff in your Paros hotel will have advice on finding the right beach for you.  Just ask them.  They want to help.

If you are trying to choose which island in Greece is right for you I recommend Paros.  Hotels, restaurants and beaches here are excellent and there are also plenty of historic attractions should you feel the need for some culture.
